My wife and I decided to drop by famous Lancaster County to enjoy another beautiful Amish destination. In our search for a place to lay our heads we found this quaint, beautiful inn with more to offer than we ever expected! We ended up staying two nights and shot this video of our experience and the things this inn offers its customers. Yes, the bus tour, the breakfast and voucher for the Cafe are included! We also found the service to be excellent! Coffee, cold drinks and snacks were always at our disposal! The rooms were impeccable and the location was Perfect! http://bird-in-hand.com/bird-in-hand-village-inn-suites/ Emily Walks Away by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Artist: http://audionautix.com/
The Keystone state -- key to America's independence. Check out the history and culture of Pennsylvania, where many German-speaking immigrants settled, with Christopher Hoh. Transcript: Hello, my name is Christopher Hoh. I work in the U.S. Embassy in Vienna, and I was born and brought up in the "the Keystone State." Pennsylvania was one of the original 13 colonies. It was called the Keystone State in the 18th century because of its central location and role in U.S. history. The first capital of the United States was in Philadelphia. Before it was colonized, the area was home to Native American tribes, including the Lenape and the Susquehannok. The name Pennsylvania means, "Penn's Woods." In 1681, England's King Charles II gave the land to William Penn as payment for a debt of 16,000 p...

ＬＩＫＥ | ＣＯＭＭＥＮＴ | ＳＨＡＲＥ | ＳＵＢＳＣＲＩＢＥ In a late-night speech before local supporters, Democrat Conor Lamb declared victory in a tight race against Trump-backed Republican Rick Saccone in a special election in Pennsylvania. At this writing, Lamb leads Saccone 113,111 votes vs. 112,532 votes, respectively. However, more than 1500 votes remain to be counted and no major news organization has declared a winner in the race. Tuesday’s special election, which was convened to replaced former Rep. Tim Murphy (R-PA) after he was revealed to have asked his aide and mistress to get an abortion, was considered a final stand for the GOP as they struggled to maintain control of a district that President Donald Trump won by 20 points in 2016. A Marine and a University of Pennsylvania graduate, Lamb previo...

Fred Woods Trail Hike Video 2013. Follow John and Danielle as they hike the Fred Woods Trail which is located near Driftwood, Pennsylvania. The trail is 4.57 miles long and is an excellent trial for anyone to hike. The couple films portions of the trail and scenic views as they travel through young and old growth forests with large rock formations scattered throughout the trail. They also come to two amazing vistas where you can see for miles. The best part are the rock formations near the middle of the trail!
Produced in early 1957, this promotional film was shown to University of Pennsylvania alumni and prospective students throughout the country. The film was produced by Henry V. Hoagland of American Film Services in Washington, D.C., and overseen by Gaylord P. Harnwell, then President of the University of Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania was once the home of the Eastern Elk until land development and uncontrolled hunting caused their extinction. In the 1920's the Rocky Mountain Elk were introduced to Central and North Eastern Pennsylvania, today the herd in Central PA, known as the Pennsylvania Wilds is alive and well and slowly growing in size. I spent 3 days in the PA Wilds in search of Elk, having heard tales of others who had gone and not seen any, I had low expectations. My concerns over not getting the chance to see these majestic animals with my own two eyes... turned out to be unfounded. While on my road trip I got to visit 8 new state parks (Bald Eagle, Black Moshannon, Parker Dam, Bucktail, Sinnemahoning, Kettle Creek, Hyner Run and Hyner View) and three new state forests (Moshannon, Elk and Sproul)...

The History of Pennsylvania as a political entity began in 1681 when William Penn received a royal charter from King Charles II of England, but human activity in the region precedes that date. Before Pennsylvania was settled by Europeans, the area was home to the Lenape, Susquehannock, Iroquois, Erie, Shawnee and other Native American tribes. Most of these tribes were driven off or reduced to remnants as a result of new diseases such as smallpox that arrived long before any permanent colonists.Pennsylvania was first colonized by Swedish and Dutch settlers in the 17th century, before the English took control of the colony in 1667. ---Image-Copyright-and-Permission--- About the author(s): Jean Leon Gerome Ferris (1863–1930) Description American painter Date of birth/death 18 August 1863 18 Ma...

PLEASE DONATE TODAY!: http://www.active.com/donate/FAW This 1999 30-minute video by the Pennsylvania Wild Resource Conservation Fund explores some of Pennsylvania's remaining old-growth forest stands, as well as emphasizes the acute importance of protecting today large tracts of public lands in Pennsylvania's second and third growth forests from all forms of development, so that they may with time eventually grow into impressive stands with emerging old-growth forest ecological characteristics. A prime candidate for such permanent protection is the 9,700-acre proposed Tracy Ridge Wilderness Area in the Allegheny National Forest: http://www.post-gazette.com/opinion/Op-Ed/2016/10/02/Tracy-Ridge-nbsp-is-wilderness/stories/201610020010 Allegheny National Forest old-growth forest tracts sho...
